Day in the Life of CamberWears

CamberWears @ Southern Worthersee in Helen, GA

There are many words to describe our time spent in Georgia. It was awesome, lots of fun, well-worth the drive, relaxing, exciting, or totally tubular. But if you were to sum it all up into two words, it was simply SOUTHERN WORTHERSEE.

CamberWears rolled out of our hometown of Houston, TX on Thursday evening with the best of our local community. Our roll out crew consisted of 16-18 of EuropeanAG.com's finest. Some DFDubs(DFW guys) and others from surrounding cities joined in on one of the best cruises I've experienced. There were lots of VWs with a couple of Audis and BMWs thrown in the mix. The 900 mile trip to Helen, GA was great and the ride didn't seem so long. It was more like cruising with friends enjoying their beautiful rides just to kill time. The trip had some lows with a couple of tire blow-outs, striping spacers off a MKV GTI (so the fenders would stop eating into poked out tires), lots of scraping, avoiding speed-bump-laced highways, sparks flying and dodging armadillos.

When we finally arrived in Helen around noon on Friday and grabbed a bite to eat and started cleaning off our beloved rides. Everyone checked in and unpacked and got settled into their rooms. After a quick power nap, most of the crew was already at the Sponsor hotel, The Helendorf. This was a nice place, German-inspired, along-side a nice river/creek.

Southern Worthersee is inspired by the Worthersee, Austria auto show which is the mekka of Audi/VW shows. But the “SoWo” venue is truly becoming the mekka of Audi/VW shows in the US. The show was a success with an unofficial count of 800+ of the best European cars in the states. There were people from the West, South, North and East. Cars I’ve only seen on the internet world, I finally got to see in person. It was great being there and representing EuropeanAG.com’s crew from Texas. There were tons of cars that were so inspiring and we would like to give props to everyone that came out.

We had a great spot for the CamberWears booth. We didn’t get the sales we expected, but the marketing of the show is what we were really looking forward to. Marque and I met some awesome people that day and we really loved the positive feedback we got from people checking out our collection. In our booth we had Matt Harm’s 2009 Volkswagen CC on air-ride suspension and BLQ Rotiform wheels powdered coated in a nice "root beer" finish, which makes the car classy with an aggressive stance. We also had Alfonso Zamudio’s 2010 Volkswagen GTI, also on air-ride suspension with black on black MAE wheels, the car is simply breathtaking. These two cars are some one of the first of its models to be bagged in the states. It was a real honor to have the guys, which are very close friends represent their beauties at the CamberWears booth. Marque and I would like to formally thank Matt and Alf for being part of our experience and also thank our significant-others (Reina & Sandy) for both helping us with selling shirts, setting-up and making our first major event a true success. We couldn’t have done it without them. We love you all.

Check out all our pics and pics from others in the links listed below. This show is truly about the cars, but the weekend can be remembered by the drunkenness we shared with friends, stories of someone caught with their pants down or getting hit with a beer bottle and causing a red sea in their bathroom sink, a cool guy who fell victim of bottle-rocket in pocket prank and memories of our “family” taking over a stairway at the Helendorf just enjoying each others’ company.

Again, the weekend was filled with lots of “Southern Worthersee”, the only two words you need. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back in 2011. Until next year, stay tuned for other events in the near future.

CamberWears goes to SoWo

CamberWears is a sponsor for the Sourthern Worthersee Audi/VW show in Helen, GA. The weekend of May 14-16 will be fun with lots of Audis and Volkswagens showing their stuff. CamberWears will have a booth with two nice looking rides from members of EuropeanAG.com, who are really good friends of ours. We will try to keep everyone updated throughout our weekend. Hopefully we won't be partying too hard to get some photos and words up to let everyone know what's going on in the beautiful German town of Helen. Stay tuned...

RIDES & ROLEXS

Even though the morning of April 10th started with some Houston showers, the car and Rolex enthusiasts still came out to the Rides & Rolexs meet & greet presented by The Houston Gold Exchange .
We were out there promoting our new Kix design to all the attendees who were enjoying the free BBQ, shrimp, oysters champagne, beer and enjoying the fine rides and fine jewelry.
It was good to see Ricky M., CEO of AutumnBahn Inc . He was out there promoting AutumnBahn and brought out a few BMWs and an Aston Martin. He also brought out, Yvonne, a nice young lady who was nice enough to model our Kix shirt. (see below for pics)
Canada's HPA Motorsports was there representing their 650HP Volkswagen R32 (Skelator) and there was also a 750hp Viper and a few Porsche's, ples a '67 Shelby Mustang.
Thanks to Brad and Donald of HGE for putting on a cool and unique event. These guys say, "Look for another great event this Fall!", so will be ready.

CamberWears @ EAG's First Friday of the Month GTG

Well, even though I (Michael) didn't make EAG's GTG at Fudd's in Houston; Marque was there reppin' and promoting our new design. The usual amount of cars were not there, probably because of weather, but a good friend of ours was there showing his sweet new mods. 2010 GTI with bags and MAE wheels. We love it like everyone else did. Stay tuned for more pics and articles of future meets and shows. Thanks to EAG member Canidio Z. for taking a photo of this beauty.

Re-vamped CamberWears site

Well, It's 3:36am and I am still up messing with the site and trying to make it look a little more attractive. Hope everyone likes it even though we still need to add a cart software or some paypal buttons to make it easier for our customers. It's a challenge for two guys that have no web designing background, but I think we are getting by. Give us any tips, ideas or suggestions you'd like to share with us. Till our next event or entry, we'll see you later. Good Morning!

Import Face-Off 2009 San Antonio Car Show

CamberWears' first show was a success. We rolled up to San Marcos to stay in our free hook-up motel room courtesy of Team 16Niss. Those guys are awesome and they really know how to take care of their friends. After settling in, we went to a Bar & Grille to get some grub and to watch UFC 107. All the fights were very great and didn't dissapoint at all. After all the fights were over, we headed back to the rooms and just hung out a little while drinking our favorite beverages...Vodka mixed with NOS Energy drinks. LOL.

We all woke up around 8am and headed to the closest car wash so we could help get some of the 16Niss cars cleaned and prepped for the show. Once at the show, the sun came out and it became a great day. The weather wasn't so great all weekend, but the weather gods gave us one of the best days of weather we have seen. We all helped Team 16Niss setup and just hung out all day with them and watched some good Sunday football with the flat screen they hooked up to their truck. It was like our own little tailgating party.

Throughout the day we took some great pics and those will definitely be up soon. Please look at our photo gallery. We also met Ashley and Delight; two of the coolest show models we have met. They were so nice and even posed with some of our shirt designs. That alone is what the car show scene is about. It was awesome of them to help us promote our designs and we really appreciated that. Thank ladies!! Again, check out our photo gallery to see the lovely Delight and Ashley sportin' some CamberWearsApparel.

The show was almost over and everyone was getting tired. The announcements of the trophies started a little before 5pm, which was a surprise. Team 16Niss took home some hardware including Best Club Representation of Quality Cars.

All in all the show, the day and the experience was great for CamberWears for the the first show we attended as CamberWearsApparel. We will be attending many more in the new year so be on the look out for us and our shirts.

CamberWears would like to thank the following for making our experience even better:

Team 16Niss
NOS Energy Drinks
The show's organizers for throwing out some of our shirts to the crowd.
Models Ashley and Delight from Arkansas for helping us with the shirts and the photos.
